Breastfeeding room CMJAH

You may remember we raised funds for the breastfeeding room makeover at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital through BackABuddy in late 2019.

 

We raised over R50 000, and our doctors did an amazing job at the Toyota Warrior Race! 

 

We were getting ready to renovate and then.... the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down. We waited patiently, knowing that our patients needed our attention, and that things would settle and we would be able to renovate eventually. In early 2021, things were starting to normalise again, and we started getting ready to renovate and then... Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital suffered a devastating fire in April 2021. The hospital was closed for months, and some parts were slowly re-opened in late 2021. The breastfeeding room is located in Block 1, which is still undergoing remedial work. We are not able to access the Breastfeeding Room to renovate currently (June 2023).

We have not forgotten about this project, as just as soon as we are able to, we are going to undertake the renovations. Keep checking back for updates, and we will post pictures when we get going!
